Why a Foundation?
The St Mary’s College Foundation, was established in 2022, primarily to make regular contributions to quality facility upgrades and further learning opportunities for its students.
The Foundation’s goal is to implement a range of successful initiatives to generate ongoing income that will go towards improving student learning facilities and provide scholarships and bursaries to those who wish to study at St Mary’s College. The Foundation acknowledges the diversity of current families and past students, which add to the rich tapestry of our College Community.
St Mary’s College, was conceived from a real need for Catholic Co Education in Inner Melbourne. The school, formerly an all-boys school known as CBC St Kilda, was reimagined in 2020 to incorporate its renewed vision and purpose of sustaining quality Catholic secondary education in the precinct.
Most of the College’s facilities have been made possible through the outstanding generosity of past generations, a combination of Catholic families and the dedication of the Christian Brothers. The need today is equally as great as we build this new school into something great.
The College Board and Administration realised that in order for the College to thrive and continue to provide affordable education into the future, the College Community would be required to make a continuing Investment. The Foundation’s mission is to provide financial support to St Mary’s College to ensure it continues to grow and deliver Catholic Co Education in Inner Melbourne.

Our Goals
- To establish a Scholarship and Bursary Fund.
- To invite past students, parents of current students and friends of the College to become members of the Foundation.
- To enlist the support including the financial support of past students, parents of current students and friends of the College for the provision of scholarships, bursaries and educational allowances.
- Cultivating and encouraging bequests, legacies and all forms of deferred gifts.
- Organising and promoting fundraising events.
- Promoting and supporting the College Building Fund.
