Intermediate Table Tennis Report – Rounds 3 & 4
The Intermediate Table Tennis team continued to show great determination across Rounds 3 and 4 despite facing two strong opponents.
Against St Bernard's, the team went down 12–3, with Charlie Benns and Ted Burdett both remaining undefeated in their singles matches, each winning all five of their sets. Burdett also combined with Louis Norton to claim an impressive doubles victory, winning four sets to one.
In Round 4 against Mazenod, St Mary's showed further improvement despite an 11–4 loss. Harry Denning produced an excellent performance, winning his singles match 3–2 and also playing strongly in the Rank 1 doubles. Ted Burdett continued his outstanding form, again winning all five of his singles sets, while Stephen Iveja also remained unbeaten in his singles. A special mention goes to Charlie Couch and Pizzaro, who recorded their first doubles victory of the season, winning their match convincingly in four sets to one.
Ted Burdett deserves particular recognition for his consistently excellent performances over the past two rounds, while Harry Denning's efforts at the top of the order were another highlight for the team. The players continue to improve each week, and their commitment and resilience are setting a strong foundation for the remainder of the season.
