As part of Reconciliation Week St Mary's College held a moving and thought provoking Assembly run by our Social Justice Team. We heard music and during the course of the Assembly unpacked the meaning of the words. We had a panel discussion of students and heard the voice of our students on First Nations Peoples' Issues. Year 12 Pastoral Leader Alex Luscombe shared a moving recount of his recent indigenous immersion experience, which told of the injustices of a woman he met, of the stolen generation, life on a Mission, segregation, and prejudice toward indigenous people in rural NSW.
Our students and staff were challenged and motivated by this Assembly to be brave and make change.
