Girls Coding Skills

The Girl Geek Academy is a movement which aims to teach one million women technology skills by the end of 2025, helping women build the internet. As a school we encourage girls to participate in a range of activities to promote the inclusion of girls in IT. The girls were invited to participate in an online incursion which taught them introductory skills in some coding programs.

This event was educational. It allowed us to learn many coding skills; specifically HTML and creating interactive stories. We feel that this event really helped us to not only connect with others, but to learn from people, outside our classroom. The person in charge of this, Leura, who was quite skilled, polite, and helpful when interacting with us.
